I stopped here while walking the south downs way. It was about 3/4 mile from the main trail. They were extremely friendly and had everything I needed, including food for lunch and dinner, as well as sunblock. I also got tips from the people who worked there about the walk ahead. I would recommend it as a stopping point for anyone who needs a quick resupply of food and basic supplies while walking. The village itself was also very charming.

Amberley's Village Stores is not only about convenience - although it certainly is! - but first and foremost about quality. Colin and his team source the best local, seasonal produce - from tomatoes that smell and taste sooo much better than their 'chilled' cousins in the supermarkets, to breads and honey, vegetables, fruit and all manner of Sussex delicacies! And then there's the service - which is exemplary, and should act as a template for what retail can and should be. We have been introduced to some outstanding products that are now staples in our cupboards, including the perfect, gluten-free pasta, corn bread and.... the best firelighters in the business! Quite simply, a gem!

Amberley Village Stores is a treasure trove!! It stocks a vast range of products to meet all kinds of needs, including many which are locally sourced. If you cant see what you're looking for - just ask, the staff are friendly and keen to help. Whether you live locally, are visiting on holiday or walking the South Downs Way, Amberley Village stores is defintely worth a visit!

Six years later I do not wish to change a word. Amberley Village Stores stocks a wide range of essentials, but also a useful number of more specialised products and will go to great lengths to source special requests. A good wine list and glasses on loan. Ordering can be done on line and deliveries arranged. The Post Office provides a range of banking services, copying etc. Very friendly service. A mine of local information. Daily papers and Fresh sandwiches available from 7am

Convenient store in Amberley town, one and only. Many snack, wine, drinks, grocery you are looking for are here. The staff is super friendly.

Lovely local shop, very friendly and helpful staff and well stocked shop. We pre-ordered some sandwiches from them when cycling the South Downs Way and stopped off here as it is about half way. Sandwiches and other goodies were ready and waiting when we arrived. Wish there were more shops like this around. Also had an amazing selection of tomatoes.
