This place is very beautiful, the immediate surroundings, the 'barn' itself and the wider area it is located in. (It is situated right on the famous South Ways Down hiking route.) The place has everything you need and is managed by a very kind owner who goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. To bad you can only give five stars, it should get more. Perfect place to stay, highly recommend.

We had a fabulous stay at Upper Barn and would highly recommend it. Amazing views and gardens, high quality towels and bed linen and everything you'd need for a stay. There are some fabulous walks and lots of local places to eat. I got ready a the barn on the morning of my wedding and we stayed the night of the wedding - it was the perfect start and end to our special day.

We had a truly wonderful week in Tim's gorgeous barn - the photos just don't do it justice! The barn was very clean and had everything we needed. The space is thoughtfully designed and finished to a high standard. The garden was a perfect safe space for our two children and dog. We loved it all.

We love staying at Upper Barn. Tim has done a fantastic job renovating the barn, which is super cosy and comfortable. The space is really special - peaceful and perfectly located for walking on the South Downs and the local pubs. The South Coast is close by and Tim is a terrific host with lots of thoughtful touches. Top class.

Amberly Barns was an absolute gem of a find! It has been thoughtfully renovated to a very high standard.
Location was perfectly secluded (great for the dog) with easy access to the south downs way and choice of good local pubs.
Tim was the perfect host from booking to checkout - thank you!
We loved it so much we've booked to go again (before word gets out and it's fully booked!!!).

We had a wonderful time. Tim's attention to details is what makes the barn exceptional. We have had everything we could wish for and were able to fully relax. The barn was squeaky clean, the bed and linen were very comfortable, cozy and of high quality. Kitchen was very good equipped even with a large collection of spices (from Mediterranean to Asia). The surrounding is beautiful, with a large enclosed garden (ideal for the dogs) and enough garden seating's to enjoy the morning- as well as the afternoon sun. You can watch the sunset from the garden. The South Down's hiking way is just passing by the barn, so no need to take the car. The picturesque Amberley village with the nice Black Horse Gastro Pub is just in walking distance another plus. Communication with Tim was quick and easy, we definitely would come back.

We had the best week staying in Upper Barn! A rare find in the picturesque historical town of Amberley - it's pure bliss! This barn is truly a beautiful and special refurbishment project, built with sensitivity and perfectly located in the South Downs Way. It is the ideal place to unwind from the busy city life - we can't wait to come back again!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Upper Barn. We are a family of four and two dogs, and it was perfect for us. The barn has been renovated to a high standard, and has everything you need, from linens to a kitchen stocked with all the tools you would need; even spices. The pictures do not do it justice. The location was ideal for hikes and biking, and for popping into the surrounding towns for day trips. The fire pit was a big highlight, and the outdoor space was enclosed and safe for our dogs. We cannot wait to return!

We had a most enjoyable stay at the barn, it's been so well done and thought out. Very tranquil and peaceful, a beautiful setting and views. We sat by the fire pit, watched the the sunset and really managed to forget about work and relax. Looking forward to our next visit.
