What a day! We loved it here! My husband loved the publishing rooms, and we adored the train ride. The displays and exhibitions are fab!! Definately recommend here! We have a 10 year old too, we will be bringing him here in the future! Also, the Electricity Interactive Exhibit was so much fun!!

Great day out for the family. Lots to see and do. We loved the bus and train rides. There are a lot of interactive displays from old (telecoms, electricity, steam engines, etc) to the latest technology. Very educational and great fun. We chose to walk throughout but you can easily use the bus or train if you prefer not to walk as there are stops dotted about. A lot of the attractions are inside so even if the weather is not great you can enjoy the day.
There are a few places to buy drinks and snacks. We had lunch at the main cafe and food was very good but it can get very busy with a bit of a wait (around 20min for us) to get the food.

If I could give 6 stars it wouldn't be enough. This museum is more than just an attraction..
It's a labour of love for many enthusiasts that make you feel so welcome coming into their domain. We were lucky enough to come when there was a steam festival. You can smell the history.
What a place!

Amberley Museum is one of those places that you go to and boot yourself for not going sooner!
Something of interest for everyone, with younger folks getting to see things that they may never have seen before and older ones (like me) reminiscing about things that they worked with or had in their home in years gone by.
Very dog friendly indeed and I think that this policy definitely pays off for the museum as responsible dog owners will visit, spend their money, be respectful of the museum and also go on to support the museum by visiting again and also recommending others to do the same. If other venues took this dog friendly approach, then I think they would see their visitor numbers rise.
Everyone volunteering at the museum was super friendly and really helpful, giving the place a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Quite a few families were there with their children on the day we visited and it was great to see the kids really enjoying themselves but at the same time learning (whilst not even knowing they were learning!) - - a really, really good day out, HIGHLY recommended.

Amazing place, really enjoyed the day. It was a special steam weekend. Fascinating collection of historical items. Steam train and bus ride included in the admission price.

An incredible place, I had not imagined that something like it could exist. The conservation is excellent, each of the houses contains a perfectly represented theme and the most surprising thing is that everything works. Machinery, printing presses, trains, buses, lathes, analog switchboards, etc... You have to go see it and especially with children so that our past is not lost. Incredible volunteers, thank you so much for making us remember those times where things were very different.

Our first visit...and what a visit it was! We absolutely adored it 💖 all the staff were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. So keen to share their interests with us. Such an amazing father's day spent there. Will tell all our friends!! ***Edit*** I just found myself thinking again about the day and do wanted to say a bit more! I had totally not mentioned the amazing AMAZING hands on museums at the end of the steam railway ride. Which lets face it...a steam railway ride is already fantastic! But as we hadn't read any of the info given to us at the beginning (thanks tragic traffic for making us late and then daughter had travel sickness in the back of the car...arriving a little later than planned and completely rattled!) we found the three fantastic museums. We spent absolutely ages in each, given we were with children aged between 2 and nearly 8, I think it is a feat! So much information and given in a way that is informative and looks fab for both small kids and big! The workshop area was also so gorgeous. We had a great chat and demo from the woodworking chap, purchasing some gorgeous 'flowers'. Amberley museum also probably the only place in the country where you can buy meaningful and eco friendly souvenirs for £1 or less. The print workshop is crammed with such gorgeous things to look at and buy. We stocked up on a pack of crafting paper and little notebooks for train journeys or restaurant visits for the kids to draw in. Honestly, the whole day was just so wholesome and phenomenal. I can't thank you enough for being such a brilliant museum. A bit far for us to be your newest and best customers (which we totally would if closer!!) but as a destination for special occasions or in the school holidays... we can't wait to come back again.

This is a dog friendly gem! The museum is such a fantastic place in a beautiful location. We were here on an event day, yet it never felt over crowded as the museum covers a wide area. You can get around by bus and/or train too. If you have your dog with you, they are welcome everywhere. The volunteers are great with them.
Each area has a lot of history and information. The kids visiting the museum were so engaged with each area we went into, so all ages will love this place. There is also a heritage area where you can see people actively keeping skills and trades alive.
The restaurant served lovely food and afternoon snacks.
It's so nice for us to be able to go out for the day and take our dog with us, and this museum was really incredible. We had such a brilliant day. All the volunteers were just so friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. We will be back for more of your event days now.
